Play Free Baccarat

I really enjoy playing a game of pure 50 / 50 chance from time to time and free baccarat is about as close as you can find on the Internet. Though it is not quite a true coin toss, with a house edge of close to 1%, it is better than even a European roulette wheel. To learn more about freebaccarat including odds, how to play, where to play and the difference between mini baccarat and regular free baccarat, I have put together this page. Good luck and hopefully I have covered everything you need to know.

Free Baccarat Odds

As there are only three possible bets on every baccarat hand and the payouts are easy to understand, the free baccarat odds are fairly easy to understand. Bets on a tie usually pay either 8 to 1 or 9 to 1 and are the worst possible bet at the baccarat table. The baccarat odds payback percentage for an 8 to 1 tie bet is between 14% and 16% depending on how many decks are being used. For the 9 to 1 tie bet the percentage is between 4 and 7.

Bets placed on the player hand pay even money or 1 to 1 and give the house an edge of roughly 1.25% (1.24% to 1.29% according to the Wizard). Bets placed on the banker's hand pay 1 to 1 minus a 5% commission, yielding a house edge of just a hair over 1% (1.01% to 1.06% according to the Wizard). Even including the commission, the banker bet is the best bet according to the odds.

As you can see, if you bet on the banker every hand baccarat offers one of the lowest house edges in the casino.

Free Baccarat Game

Every online casino that I know of offers a free baccarat game but the ones I recommend are listed to the left (Just click any of the flashy things to get started). They each are well-known and established businesses that are what you will be looking for in the event you decide to play for real down the road. Blackjack Ballroom free baccarat has a great promotion that gives you an hour of free play at the baccarat table and you get to keep your winnings up to $200. If you are going to be playing for free, you might as well try to win a little while you are at it. Be sure to read the free bonus terms.

How to Play Free Baccarat

Learning how to play free baccarat has to be the easiest thing to do at an online casino. All you have to do to play is choose whether to bet on the banker, player or tie. The baccarat software takes care of everything else. If you want to better understand the rules, I have included them below.

  1. The object of baccarat is to finish with a higher point total than the other hand, with 2 or 3 cards. Aces count as 1, tens and face cards count as 0 and 2 thru 9 count as their face value. All the cards in the hand are added together and if the total is over 10, the 10 is dropped. For example, if the banker has an 8 and a 9, the total is counted as 7 (8 + 9 = 17, subtract the tens place 17 - 10 = 7)
  2. If the first 2 cards in either hand make an 8 or a 9, no additional cards may be drawn. These are called natural hands.
  3. If the players hand equals 6 or more, they can not draw an additional card. If it equals 5 or less, they must draw another card, but only a single card. The most cards possible in a hand is 3.
  4. When the players first 2 cards are 6 or more, the banker draws a third card only if their hand is 5 or less.
  5. This is where it gets a bit complicated, and why I am glad the dealer or software takes care of the decisions. If the player draws a third card, the dealer draws a third card if their hand is 2 or less. If the banker has 7 or above, it stays.
  6. When the banker totals 3 thru 6, it depends on what the players 3rd card was.
  7. When the banker has 3, they stay if the players third card is an 8, but draw another card for any other card.
  8. If the banker has 4, they stay when the players third card is 0, 1, 8 or 9 and draw otherwise.
  9. When the banker has 5, they stay on a players 3rd card of 0, 1, 2, 3, 8 or 9 and draw otherwise.
  10. Finally, if the banker has 6 they stay unless the players third card is a 6 or a 7.

Free Baccarat System

Let me first clarify that there is no free baccarat system that will beat the game in the long run. No matter how small the house edge to a game is, if the casino has an edge it will achieve that edge over time. This system will let you win most of the time you play, as long as you don't play for too long. The drawback is that you will lose larger amounts when you do lose, as it is based on a Martingale progression system.

Start by placing the lowest bet possible on the banker. After every hand you win, revert to placing the minimum bet on the banker for the next hand. After every loss, double your bet. The banker has a slightly better chance to win, but it is so miniscule of a difference that I always alter my bets between the banker and the player.

The problem is that you will hit streaks of 7 or 8 wins in a row for either the banker or player hand and you will either run out of money or bump against the maximum table stakes. I never play for more than an hour at a time using this system, and I do occasionally hit a large loss. But I do enjoy the smaller wins on a more frequent basis, as I only gamble for enjoyment, not with the idea of actually winning in the long run.

Free Mini Baccarat

Free mini baccarat is the same as the regular game if you play at an online casino. Mini baccarat is slightly different in a casino, as the dealer handles all of the cards instead of the players, but you generally can't play for free at a land based casino.
